Careers - Insurance Follow-Up Representative

Essential Functions

  • Make professional, courtesy outgoing insurance calls in order to receive claim status
  • Receive incoming insurance calls
  • Create situations according to the insurance claim needs
  • Responsible for recording daily stats
  • Read account detail and communicate appropriate detail to insurance representatives
  • Able to follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Understand when and how to submit times for payroll to a supervisor
  • Be able to read and understand each sites policies and procedures
  • Accurately document the account detail
  • Be able to screenshot the daily tickler files and document through the Insurance Tickler System
  • Working directly with the health care provider, insurance companies, and in some cases patients
  • Checking insurance eligibility
  • Reviewing an electronic claim status application with a provided electronic claims status response
  • Be able to perform the method to follow-up and identify claim status using one of the following methods; audit reports, insurance websites, automated system or fax back system, contacting customer service representatives, email or fax claim status request
